did some thinking

2 Chronicles 7:14
if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

How often is it all looked over? all the evil things we do, not the "big stuff" as some classify things but the "little things" like, how we talk, how we treat other people, how we think, what we listen to, what we watch, how we treat our own family, what we wear, what we do not do but know we should, what we eat, the time we waist, and a whole lot of other things. sometimes we excuse this behavior as "it's not that bad", "my Christian friends do it too" "I’m afraid that wouldn't work out" "it's not like I killed anybody" "it's harmless fun" "it's just for fun" "I just want to be comfortable" "it's classic so it's ok" "it doesn't have that many cuss words" "its just got violence but no sex and not much language" "it's not cussing" "I just need to have fun" "I don't want to offend someone by telling them they are going to hell... or that they are even wrong" "we have liberty in Christ so I can do whatever I want" and countless other little excuses that we use each and every day of our lives.

Lev 20:7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Num 15:40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.
2Cr 2:8 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.

2nd Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

At the base of all these excuse we give is us. We want to be comfortable even at the cost of what is right. How often is it that we find people to take our side so that we can feel that what we are doing or not doing is ok? God doesn't grade on a curve, he lays it out for us but we want to hold each other to our own standards instead. Our standards aren’t as radical as Gods, they don't cause as much controversy and are more comfortable for us. Our pride, we don't want to change because we don't want to be the one who suffers, we don't want to be uncomfortable, we don't want to be different from other people like us or maybe even from the world. Many even question the truth itself (the Bible) because they think that perhaps mans ideas on things are right because we give it a label of "science", or perhaps it's just an idea that makes sin sound not as bad as it really is.

We go to Church on Sundays and maybe even all throughout the week, and many seem to think in their head (even if they aren’t saying it) that they must be ok with God on account of that. Or some don't even think about if they are doing what God wants or not.

Jam 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

1st Cor 3:18-20 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their own craftiness"; and again, "The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile."

Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Mat 10:34 -39 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Jam 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

1Ti 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

(Could our lack of action be denying him with our lives?)

2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

Hbr 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

1Pe 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 1Pe 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

1Pe 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
1Pe 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
1Pe 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
1Pe 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
1Pe 4:16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1Pe 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
1Pe 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
